Gordon Fry designer-maker

Gordon is a British designer-maker, who grew up in the Weald of Sussex where he spent much of his childhood exploring woodlands and the countryside around him. From here, he developed a passion for the wood industry and went on to become a designer-maker. This, in time, led him with his young family on a journey to explore opportunities in France where he set up and managed an architectural joinery studio. During this time he was awarded the title of Maître Artisan (master craftsman) by the Chamber of Trades.

Over the years, Gordon has put his hand to many projects, from renovation of unique period properties, landscaping, roles in the commercial and residential  furniture industries to a regular columnist for several woodwork publications.

Returning to his roots and his long held passional for nature and the great outdoors, he graduated with a Diploma in Professional Garden Design from the NDA in 2021. He continues to develop his skillset by looking at ways he can encompass his knowledge of the wood industry within landscape and garden design projects.
